When a company sells goods through other online marketplaces (e.g. Walmart, eBay, Shein, Zalando etc.), logistics can follow the same type of models as with Amazon: i.e. marketplace-managed fulfillment (where the marketplace handles inventory, order processing, picking, packing, shipping, and customer service), seller-managed Fulfillment (i.e. the seller stores and manages their inventory independently), or a combination of these two. Regardless of model, and as with Amazon, it is important to consider the type and role of a 3PL warehouse in this setup. Each model relies on seamless coordination between inventory management, order tracking, and shipping to ensure timely deliveries and a positive customer experience.
